Syria and Iran sign a memo of understanding for cooperation in the field of hydropower

TEHRAN, (ST)_Syria and Iran signed in Tehran today a memo of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of  hydropower.

The MoU was signed by the Syrian Minister of Water Resources Hussein Arnous and the Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakianian in the presence of the Syrian Ambassador to Iran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud.

The memo includes the implementation of joint projects in the fields of dams, surface wells, water pumps and the rehabilitation of the water system in Syria as well as the exchange of experiences, studies and scientific research and cooperation in design and construction of water sewage treatment and water transmission and distribution networks and the formation of a committee to implement the terms of the MoU.

Yesterday , Minister Arnous had discussed with the Iranian minister of energy and officials and representatives of the private sector in Iran the cooperation in the field of hydropower and the establishment of joint projects.
