Syria and Iran enhance means of bilateral cooperation in the field of media

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Information, Imad Sarah, discussed on Wednesday with official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatib Zadeh and an accompanying delegation, means of enhancing bilateral relations between both countries, particularly in the field of media and culture.

During the meeting, Minister Sarah stressed the importance of press cooperation to confront the media war that targets the two countries and works to distort facts and concepts.

MinisterSarah pointed out to the need for raising the level of Syrian-Iranian relations in the media and cultural sectors to confront some campaigns that seek to harm mutual relations.

The Minister of Information said that, Syria which has defeated terrorism through the strength of its people and army is able today to confront the economic terrorism represented by the unjust blockade imposed by the United States against it.

Khatib Zadah, who is also head of the Center for Public Diplomacy and Information, said that, the countries which launched the terrorist war on Syria failed to achieve their goals. Those countries turned into an economic and media war to “tighten the noose around the Syrian people and mislead public opinion.”

In a statement to reporters, KhatibZadehdescribed his meetings with Foreign and Expatiates Minister and Information Minister as “constructive” that focused on the unjust US sanctions against the resisting Syrian people.

The Iranian official affirmed his country’s continued support for the government and people of Syria.
