The Syrian Ambassador to Iran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud discussed today with the advisor of the Iranian President and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Free Zones Mortada Bank, the promotion of joint investments in the free zones sector through the establishment of joint industrial and commercial free zones as an implementation of the economic agreements signed between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Mahmoud stressed the importance of activating the role of the private sector and industrial and commercial companies in the two countries to take advantage of the investment opportunities provided by the free zones to establish an economic partnership that benefits people of Syria and Iran and enhances their ability to confront the economic war and unfair coercive measures to which the two countries are exposed.
The Ambassador confirmed that the continued imposition of the coercive measures against Syria and Iran is illegal and is a humanitarian crime that impedes the efforts of the two countries to secure the main requirements for combating the Corona pandemic that threatens all of humanity.
For his part, Bank expressed the readiness of Iran, Iranian companies and the private sector to cooperate with Syria in the free zone area to benefit from the available capabilities to upgrade the level of cooperation in this field.
