New Delhi, ST- Within the framework of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the technology and informatics sector, Syria and India signed a memo of understanding to reactivate the Syrian-Indian Center of Excellence for Information Technology in Damascus.
The memo was signed by Secretary for Economic Relations in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs T.S Tirumurti, and Syria’s Ambassador to India Riyad Abbas.
Abbas stressed the importance of signing the MoU and reopening this center, especially after the return of security and stability to Syria thanks to the sacrifices and steadfastness of its people and army.
The Syrian-Indian Center of Excellence for Information Technology was inaugurated at the end of 2010 with the aim of providing the latest software and tools for ( IT) training, then it had to stop its activities due to the terrorist war on Syria.
The idea of launching this project came during the President Bashar al-Assad to India in 2008.
