Syria and Egypt discuss cooperation in providing job opportunities and vocational training

On May 24th, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louay Al-Munajjid, discussed with the Minister of Manpower, Hassan Shehata, the promotion cooperation, the exchange of experiences in the field of employment, and the provision of job opportunities and vocational training between Syria and Egypt.

This came during Minister Shehata’s meeting with Minister Al-Munajjid, in the presence of Jamal Al-Qadri, Secretary-General of the International Federation of Arab Trade Unions, and representatives of employers and workers on the sidelines of the activities of the 49th session of the Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.

Minister Al-Munajjid praised the role of the workforce and the Egyptian government, its sponsorship of the Arab Labor Conference, its keenness to support labor issues and its support for training and employment processes.

For his part, Shehata affirmed the depth of the Egyptian-Syrian relations in various fields and his willingness to continue activating joint cooperation, especially in the field of vocational training and rehabilitation of youth.

He said that Syria will return to its seat in the League of Arab States.

According to the press release, the two ministers stressed the importance of ways of joint cooperation and exchange of experiences between Syria and Egypt and benefiting from the Egyptian experience in providing training programs according to the latest methods, modernizing the infrastructure of vocational training centers and providing them with modern tools and equipment that keep pace with the global changes needed by the labor market.
