Syria and DPRK in the Same Trench: President Al-Assad

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ President Bashar Al-Assad received on Sunday Deputy Foreign Minister, of the Democratic People Republic of Korea (DPRK), Sen Hong Chul and the accompanying delegation.

President Al-Assad stressed that Syria and DPRK are targeted as they are one of the few countries that have real independence.

H. E. President Al-Assad assured that Syria and DPRK are standing in the same trench against one enemy who wants to change Identity of the people of the two countries.

“What Syria did previously to DPRK, and what DPRK is doing to Syria are because of moral principles, built on national dignity and loyalty to the friends.” Al-Assad expressed.

From his part, Chul stressed that the historical development of bilateral relations between Syria and DPRK is the principled constants of his country’s policy, adding that DPRK will not spare any effort in providing full support to the Syrian people in defending the sovereignty and independence of their country.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal al-Mikdad.
