Syria-Algeria Discuss Coordination to Activate Agreements on Employment and Social Insurance

GENEVA, (ST)- Syria’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Rima al-Qaderi and Algeria’s Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Tidjani Hassan Haddam have discussed mechanisms to activate memorandums of Understanding signed between the two countries in the domain of employment and social insurance.

The discussions were held on the sidelines of the 108th Session of International Labour Conference which kicked off on June 10th with the participation of 187 countries member in the International labor Organization (ILO), including Syria.

 Al-Qaderi stressed the need to coordinate stances on issues of common interest, particularly on the Israeli enemy’s violations against the Syrian workers in the occupied Syrian Golan and on condemning the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people.

 The Algerian minister, on his side, affirmed the importance of exchanging expertise and of continuous coordination on all issues.

He hailed the victories of the Syria Arab army in the fight against terrorism as to restore security and stability to the entire Syrian territories.

Participants in the conference, which lasts till June 21st , are to discuss issues on the future of labour, on implementing international agreements in this regard and on cooperation to support the goals of sustainable development and employ technology to achieve hoped for development.
