Syria, Algeria discuss commercial exchange

ALGERIES,(ST)_ Syria’s Ambassador to Algeria  Nomir Wahib Al-Ghanem held on Thursday talks with the Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade Kamal Rziq. 
 
The talks between the two sides dealt with the ways of activating commercial exchange between the two countries and opening Algerian markets for Syrian products. 
 
Rziq asserted the Algerian government’s determination to enhance economic and commercial relations with Syria through the signed deals and reactivating  the role of the Syrian-Algerian Businessmen Council.
 
He referred to the importance of encouraging investments, especially in the light of reconstruction proces in Syria. 
 
“Algeria will sign the Free African Zone Agreement that will serve 1.2 billion people in African continent. This agreement will pave the way for making Algeria the gate for Syrian investors to Africa, while Syria could be the Asian gate for Algerian investors,” Rziq added. 
 
For his part, Al-Ghanem stressed that the Syrian state will go ahead with political process to achieve the interests of the Syrian people and to liberate all Syrian areas from the remnant of terrorist groups that receive support from US and Turkish occupation forces. 
 
He referred to the fact that Syria suffers from acute economic circumstances because of unilateral sanctions being imposed on it by the US and Western countries.
