Today, Prime Minister Hussein Arnous met with Inal Ardzinba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Arnous and Ardzinba discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the economic, commercial, banking, educational, sport, tourism, and cultural fields. They also discussed implementing the memorandums of understanding signed between the two sides and preparing for the second session of the Syrian-Abkhaz joint committee, which contributes to developing relations and open broader areas for them.
The two sides expressed their condemnation of the Israeli aggression and the continuing crimes committed by the Zionist entity, with American support, against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, stressing the need to immediately stop these massacres.
The Abkhaz minister affirmed his country’s condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Syrian territories, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.
The Prime Minister stressed the Syrian government’s keenness to strengthen relations with the Republic of Abkhazia in various fields, based on the interest of the peoples of the two countries, the historical ties between them, and their common positions in the face of external pressures and the blockade imposed on them by the West.
He noted the promising prospects of cooperation at all levels and the necessity to activate the role of business sector between the two countries to establish joint investment and production projects depending on the capabilities and components available on both sides, especially Investment Law No. 18 of 2021, which provides an attractive investment environment in Syria.
The Abkhaz Foreign Minister referred to his country’s desire to upgrade the bilateral relations between the two countries to the required level in order to achieve the common interest of the two countries and the two friendly peoples, noting the appropriate investment environment in Syria, especially after the Syrian people managed to triumph over international terrorism.
