SYP 200 million Earmarked to Rehabilitate Infrastructure in Fadloun Industrial Area in Damascus Countryside
DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian government has earmarked a sum of SYP 200 million to rebuild the infrastructure of the industrial area of Fadloun 2 in Damascus Countryside, Governor of Damascus Countryside Alaa Muneer Ibraheem said on Wednesday.
Ibraheem made the remarks during his tour in the industrial area to inspect its rehabilitation needs with the purpose of fixing the damage caused by terrorism. He met owners of the industrial facilities and get an idea about their demands and their suggestions to improve the service situation in the area.
The sum of money will be used in building electricity networks, fix the drinking water and sewage networks and meet industrialists’ requirements, according to the governor.
The project aims at preparing the ground for the return of industrialists to the area where they can resume production in their facilities within maximum six months.
On their part, the industrialists said they will spare no effort as to resume their work in their facilities as to support national economy.
Last month, Prime Minister Imad Khamis decided to form working groups of industrialists and governmental bodies to determine the requirements to re-operate the facilities in the area according to a specific schedule, noted that daily reports on the course of repair works will be submitted by the groups.
