Symposium on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at Al-Assad Library

Damascus, (ST) – Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic said on the sidelines of the symposium entitled “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” which was held on Wednesday at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus: What happened to Syria and Palestine is happening to the Arabs, not just because we are Syrians or because they are Palestinians, but because they are Arabs.”

She added our fate is common, and whoever stands with Syria and Palestine stands with himself, and the turn is coming for everyone because Zionism plans to control this region, not only to displace the Palestinian people, but to erase Arab culture and Arab history and replace them with a Zionist culture.

Shaaban said: The Palestinian issue is no longer just an Arab Islamic issue, it is a global issue, and we know that Many Arabs and Muslims are unable to support this issue, as they do not have the independent decision to support this issue, just as they do not have the independent decision to support Syria.

Dr. Shaaban continued: Many countries in the world, from Latin America to Asia to Africa, have called for supporting the Palestine issue, and we should go in all directions to create a global front for Palestine.

Dr. Shaaban stated: We know that the West represents nothing but a group of tyrants who support those who carry out a war of genocide and ethnic cleansing. Today, there is no international community in the true sense of the word.

Dr. Shaaban also said that “we first need an intellectual and political pause to decide where we are and where we are heading and how as friends of the Palestinian cause and concerned as resistance, and there may be those who cannot see that they are being targeted, and we cannot show them that.
