After intensive preparations over the past period, the Syrian women’s cycling team is ready to participate in the Arab Games competitions hosted by Algeria.
The coach of the national team, Samer Weiss, explained in a statement to SANA News Agency that the preparations included a training camp that lasted for a month, during which the players carried out their training on various road tracks, including slopes, where they reached a good degree of technical and physical readiness, pointing out that the tests conducted for the players in the camp showed a development in the level of progress, especially when dealing with road tracks.
Weiss indicated that the players’ commitment to daily training for continuous hours during the camp achieved the hoped-for goal and enhanced the players’ self-confidence, desire and will to achieve good results in the competitions of the Arab Games in Algeria, and according to the tests that were conducted, the team will have great chances of winning brilliant medals in Algeria.
Finally, the national team includes the following players: Miran Fares, Marah Khudair, Sandy Dergham, Maha Shamlas, Lujain Hassan and Amira Alabi.
