Syrian table tennis player Obeida Zaza gearing up to take part in the Arab Sports Games in Algeria  

The Syrian table tennis player Obeida Zaza is getting ready, alongside other members of the national table tennis team, to take part in the Arab Sports Games, due to be held in Algeria in July 2023.

Head of the Syrian Table Tennis Union Bassam Khalil told SANA that the player Obeida Zaza acquires distinguished skills in this game that were a source of admiration of Arab table tennis experts. This was clear in Iraq International Championship in which Zaza presented great performance that enabled him to win the cup of this event, Khalil added.

He pointed out that the table tennis union is counting on the player Zaza in future competitions to make new achievements and win advanced positions.

In a statement to SANA, the player Obeida Zaz said that he started playing table tennis when he was 10-year-old in Hama province and later, he moved to Damascus where he joined “Al-Muhafaza Club”.  He added that his level of playing continuously developed thanks to intensive efforts exerted by his coaches and because of his commitment to the set exercises.

He pointed out that he took part in all local competitions of different age categories in which he managed to rank first.
