Syrian-Sudanese Talks on Prospects of Enhancing Economic and Industrial Cooperation

The head of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry Ghazwan Al-Masry discussed with the acting Charge d’Affaires at the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Hassan, the prospects of developing economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries and exchanging experiences and information in this area.

Al-Masry stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and the Chamber’s desire to create a partnership between the two sides as an important step to start projects in various sectors, and to cooperate in covering the shortage of essential consumer products, especially in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

For his part, the Acting Charge d’affaires at the embassy of Sudan pointed out that his country is going through exceptional circumstances and is coming to the stage of reconstruction and launching the wheel of production, which requires cooperation with all brotherly and friendly countries and the revival and activation of agreements and memorandums of cooperation previously signed with Syria to develop its relations with Sudan.

Al-Hassan pointed out the need of the Sudanese market for many industries in various sectors, especially pharmaceutical industries.

In this regard, it was agreed to hold a virtual meeting during the coming period that will bring together businessmen specialized in the pharmaceutical industries to exchange information and learn more about ways of cooperation in this field.
