Syrian-Russian Peace Center for artistic, cultural, musical, sport and educational activities opens in Damascus Countryside

Damascus Countryside – The Syrian-Russian Peace Center for artistic, cultural, musical, sport and educational activities opened this morning in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya suburb in Damascus Countryside.

50 families of martyrs, wounded army personnel in addition to a number of excelled students were honored during the opening ceremony.

The new center will present different artistic, cultural, musical, sport and educational activities, including courses for teaching the Russian language to the children of the martyrs and the wounded army personnel.

Deputy Head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimmin, Rear admiral Vadim Collet told reporters that the center is important for supporting and honoring the children of the martyrs and the wounded, for providing assistance to citizens and for teaching the Russian language.

For his part, Head of the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative Ahmad Al-Koud said that the center signals the start of opening educational and medical centers affiliated to the initiative in different Syrian governorates. He pointed out that the initiative focuses on caring for the wounded servicemen and the families of the martyrs and on providing humanitarian assistance to them.

The Center includes five class rooms ad it is the first of its kind in terms of caring for the children of the martyrs and the wounded and providing educational services to them.
