Syrian player, Mohammed Al Soufi, wins title of European Billiards League Championship

Tallinn, (ST) – Syrian national team player for billiards, Muhammad Al-Soufi, won the title of the European Billiards Championship (9-ball pool), whose competitions concluded yesterday in the Estonian capital, Tallinn, in an unprecedented achievement for an Arab player.

Al-Soufi beat the Spanish world champion Francisco Sanchez in the final, and also beat the Dutch player Nils Wagen in the semi-finals.

Al-Soufi, who received the championship cup, refused to participate in the ceremony in solidarity with the earthquake victims in Syria.
