President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce , president of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce Abu Al-Huda al-Lahham discussed with Pakistani ambassador Shahid Akhtar and his accompanying delegation of Pakistani businessmen and traders, ways to increase the volume of trade exchange and investments between the two countries and enhance the prospects for economic cooperation.
During the meeting held at the headquarters of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Al-Laham highly appreciated Pakistan’s support for Syria and the continuation of diplomatic cooperation, pointing out the importance of the delegation’s visit to Expo 2024 to see Syrian products and hold direct contacts and meetings with businessmen and traders, which will reflect positively on the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and benefit the two peoples.
For his part, ambassador Akhtar explained that over the past two years, the embassy, in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, has succeeded in developing trade relations between the two countries, especially with regard to import and export, stressing that the presence of the delegation will enable him to see the real picture of Syria, contrary to what the Western media reports.
The head of the Pakistani delegation, Amir Jamalo, said in a media statement that the visit aims to hold meetings with multiple economic and trade bodies in Damascus, Aleppo and Homs, and overcome obstacles facing the strengthening of trade cooperation between the two countries, in addition to visiting the expo 2024 for Syrian Exports to see the most important Syrian products more closely, pointing out that there is a real desire by Pakistani businessmen to establish a partnership with Syrian businessmen.
