Syrian-Omani talks on enhancing cooperation in the industrial field

On August 23rd, the Minister of Industry Abdel -Qader Joukhdar met with a delegation from the investment agency in the Sultanate of Oman headed by Talal bin Isa Al -Harrasi, the first director of economic diversification investments in the agency.

The two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation in the industrial field and agricultural food industries, carry out joint projects and exchange experiences.

Joukhdar stressed the strength of the Syrian-Omani brotherly relations, and the need to work to develop them at all levels, reviewing the most important investment opportunities presented by the Ministry in the field of agricultural food industrialization.

He explained that the Ministry’s vision includes the development of sugar manufacturing laboratories and the onion drying laboratory in Hama Governorate by adding new production lines, in addition to updating the Damascus Dairy Company, establishing a new factory for the canned food in the Al -Ghab area in Hama, and the possibility of establishing a juice factory in the Syrian coast.

For his part, Al -Harrasi stressed the importance of investment opportunities in the Syrian industrial sector, and projects of joint cooperation that can be implemented between the two sides through studying them with the Omani investment agency, as well as interested businessmen and the Syrian -Omani business councils.

He pointed to the importance of enhancing scientific and technical cooperation and exchanging experiences in a way that achieves the interest of the two countries.
