Syrian musician Hagop Knouzi wins second prize in the Four Notes International Competition

Abu Dhabi,(ST)- Syrian academic musician Hagop Kanuzi won second place in the Four Notes International Music Competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the professional category for solo piano playing.

102 male and female participants from Arab and foreign countries participated in the competition, while the jury included members from Greece, Serbia, Italy and Croatia.

It is noteworthy that Hagop Knouzi, a piano teacher at the Higher Institute of Music, was born in Damascus in 1997. He began studying music at the Salhi al-Wadi Institute affiliated with the Ministry of Culture in 2004 under Professor Jack Momjian and graduated from it in 2013 under the Russian expert Vladimir Zaretsky.

Kenouzi continued his studies at the Higher Institute of Music in 2014 and graduated in 2020 under the supervision of the Russian expert Victoria Snobar. He also studied performing arts with Dr. Ghazwan Zirkli.

Knouzi participated with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra as a soloist, performing Tchaikovsky’s First Concerto in 2023 under the leadership of Maestro Misak Bagbodrian.

He won third place in the Gloria Artis International Music Competition in Vienna – Austria 2024, and the grand prize in the Ninth International Competition for Soloists in Russia – Moscow 2023.
