Syrian-Iraqi talks on facilitating transit and land transport

Damascus (ST): The meeting that brought together the Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym, with Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Damascus, Yassin Sharif Al-Hujaimi, focused on issues of joint cooperation in the field of transportation between the two countries.

During the meeting, which was held in the Ministry’s building, the two sides discussed facilitating transit and land transport, activating truck work, commercial and economic exchange, simplifying drivers’ work procedures, in addition to the necessity of activating work steps for railway connectivity, and intensifying communication channels between technical delegations to serve the integration of cooperation relations in the transport arteries.

The two sides underlined the importance of the continuous meeting between the officials of the two countries in the transport sectors in various disciplines, based on the strong strategic, historical and geographical relationship and the common interests that unite the two brotherly countries.
