Syrian-Iraqi talks on enhancing military and security cooperation

On August 30th, Iraqi Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi and Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah discussed bilateral relations between Syria and Iraq in the military and security fields, and ways to improve them for the benefit of the two countries.

The Iraqi Ministry of Defense stated: “Minister Al-Abbasi received in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, and during the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest to the two countries.”

Ambassador Al-Dandah said: “The meeting dealt with raising the level of coordination in the field of security and combating terrorism, exchanging information, pursuing terrorist cells, controlling the borders between the two countries and preventing terrorist infiltration to and from the two countries, in addition to many issues of common interest.”
