Syrian Film “The Road” will take part in Sharm Al-Sheikh Arab Cinema Festival    

The Syrian film “The Road” by director Abdellatif Abdelhamid will take part in the official competition of the feature films of the Sharm Al-Sheikh Arab Cinema Festival, which is due to kick off on June 15, 2023.

The film is one of the products of the Syrian Cinema Organization.

The festival is organized by Ebdaa Organisation for Culture and Arts. Its higher committee comprises Arab actresses Elham Shahin, Laila Elwi and Hind Sabri as well as a number of prominent Arab filmmakers.

The film depicts simple rural life in which the characters are rural people who have hopes and who face many kinds of disappointment. The main character in the film is Saleh, a child, who suffers of being accused of stupidity by all people around him. However, his grandfather, who is also called Saleh, decides to turn this stupidity into intelligence.

It is to be noted that the film has won three prizes from Carthage Film Festival and it has recently participated in the official competition of the Casablanca Independent Film Festival.

Then film stars Mowaffaq Al-Ahmad, Ghaith Daher, Mamoun Al-Khatib, Rabab Merhej, Ahmed Kanaan, Rand Abbas, Tamader Ghanem, Majed Issa, Rama Al-Zein, Alaa Zahreddine, Hashem Ghazal, Khaled Rizk and others.
