Syrian Expatriates, Russian citizen and foreigners continue to flock to the Syrian Embassy in Moscow to offer condolences
For the sixth day in a row, official and popular delegations, Russian citizens, Syrian expatriates and Arabs residing in Moscow continued to flock to the Syrian Embassy in Moscow to offer condolences over the victims of the earthquake that hit Syria last week and to provide assistance to Syrian people.
The Syrian Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafaria, during his meeting with the delegation of the branch of the Union of the Iranian Students studying in Russia, thanked the Iranian government and people for their continuing support for Syria and for sending dozens of planes loaded with aid to quake affected areas.
He pointed out that the visit of the Iranian delegation to the embassy proves that the Iranian people’s sympathy and solidarity with Syria goes beyond the aid.
During his meeting with a Vietnamese delegation, Dr Al-Jaafari explained that Syria has been under an economic blockade since 2011 by the European Union and the US, pointing to the existence of historical relations between Syria and Vietnam.
For his part, the head of the Vietnamese delegation, head of Consular section at the Vietnamese Embassy Nguyen Tong Lam expressed the sincere condolences of the government and people in Vietnam to the friendly Syrian people and to the families of the victims of the devastating earthquake.
He affirmed that the delegation does not represent only the official Vietnamese side, but also the civil side of the Vietnamese community in Russia.
At the same context, Russian state Duma member, Rizvan Kurbanov, offered condolences over the earthquake victims and affirmed that the policy adopted by Russian President Vladimir Putin towards Syria is clear, expresses his hope that Syria will recover from the crisis as soon as possible.
Dr. Al-Jaafari pointed out that the arrival of Russian volunteers in Syria from the first day after the earthquake indicates the depth of the brotherly relations between Russia and Syria.
