Syrian diplomat: Israeli massacre committed in Al-Ma’amadani Hospital confirms the occupation’s hatred and reflects continued approach of Zionist gangs

The Acting Charge d Affairs of Syria’s Permanent mission in the United Nations Al-Hakam Dendi affirmed that the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation against hundreds of Palestinians in Al-Ma’amadani  Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday confirms the extent of the occupation’s hatred and aggressive policy, and reflects the continuation of the approach of the Zionist gangs that established this criminal entity.

He noted that the massacre  would not have happened without the support offered by the Western countries, led by the United States of America, to Israel.  These western countries provided protection for the continuation of Israeli crimes through obstructing the adoption of a draft humanitarian resolution submitted by Russia.

Dendi said during an emergency session of the Security Council on Wednesday regarding the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip: We witnessed one of the most heinous crimes against humanity, and it came in the context of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, expressing Syria’s condemnation of this heinous massacre against hundreds of innocent people in al-Ma’amadani Hospital in Gaza.

Dendi pointed out that this massacre is a barbaric act that expresses the level of hatred of the occupation authorities, whose crimes exceeded the utmost levels of aggression. It only reminds us of the crimes of this entity upon which it was established and was founded.

Dendi pointed out that the continued silence of the international community regarding taking a response to the criminal approach followed by the Israeli entity, made it persist in that approach, ignoring international humanitarian law, as it continues the policy of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, expelling them from their land, and placing settlers on the land of Palestine instead of its original people, and this was evident in his intention to forcibly displace the people of Gaza, trying to repeat the tragedy of Nakba in 1948.

Dendi stated that the occupation’s  brutality reached the point of threatening to wipe Gaza out of existence, and attacking a hospital containing defenseless people who were forced by the occupation’s death threats to take shelter in the hospital because they believed it fell within the framework of international protection and international humanitarian law.

Dend pointed out that what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories did not begin on the 7th of  October, but rather many decades ago as a result of the continued occupation’s denial of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He clarified that the region will not enjoy stability as long as the occupation and the Western countries supporting it continue with this denial and attempts to obscure this historical and humanitarian truth.

Dendi reiterated Syria’s support for the Palestinian cause, as it is the central Arab cause, and it has not and will not spare any effort to stand alongside the brotherly Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to regain their rights which were stolen more than seven decades ago. It is everyone’s duty to provide support to the resisting Palestinian people.

Dendi clarified that at the same time, the Israeli occupation forces continue their repeated attacks on Syrian territory, as they launched three attacks on the civilian international airports of Damascus and Aleppo within 48 hours, the most recent of which was last Saturday, which led to material damage to the two airports and bringing them out of service. So, this aggression is nothing but a frantic effort by the Israeli terrorist authorities to ignite the war in the entire region.

Dendi stressed that Syria will not remain silent regarding the Israeli occupation forces’ violations and attacks on its lands and on our people in the occupied Golan, warning Israel of continuing to commit these violations. Syria denounces the continued support for such practices or silence about them by some countries which claim to be a protector of international humanitarian law and which make them complicit with the perpetrators of these crimes, and clearly shows the extent of the double standards they practice.

Dendi confirmed that Syria holds the Western countries that support Israel, led by the United States, responsible for the massacres of the Israeli occupation.

Dendi stressed that the Security Council must, now more than ever, carry out its duties stipulated in the United Nations Charter, to put an end to the brutal attacks on the brotherly Palestinian people, through an immediate ceasefire, work to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza, and prevent forced displacement of the people of Gaza Strip.
