Syrian-Czech cooperation in the field of drinking water

Damascus (ST) – The Ministry of Water Resources and the Czech Republic on Sunday signed a coordination protocol between the Czech Embassy in Damascus and the General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Damascus and its countryside.

The protocol, signed by the Director General of the Damascus Water Establishment Issam Tabbaa and the Czech Ambassador Eva Filipi, includes a material donation from the Czech Republic that contains equipment for a drinking water desalination plant, provided that the certification procedures will be completed and put into effect at a later date.

Minister of Water Resources, Dr. Tammam Raad, stressed the depth of cooperation relations with the Czech Republic represented by its embassy in Damascus and the Czech companies operating in Syria. He indicated the importance of the continuation of this cooperation in raising the level of services provided.

For her part, Ambassador Filibi affirmed the importance of working to expand horizons and coordination between the two countries, noting the level of technical cooperation provided by the Ministry to facilitate the completion of this protocol.
