On September 14th, the Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission, Dr. Fadi Salti Al-Khalil, met with the Vice President of the Bio-Cuba Pharma Foundation for Pharmaceutical Industries Mayda Marui.

The two sides discussed ways and prospects for enhancing cooperation between Syria and Cuba in the pharmaceutical field.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of Syria’s participation in the Group of 77 and China summit, the two sides also discussed securing the arrival of medicines and vaccines to Syria, in addition to a number of outstanding issues and obstacles facing health, commercial and economic cooperation.

Marui stressed her country’s keenness to cooperate with the Syrian government, improve relations between the two friendly countries, and overcome all obstacles that stand in the way of their development, especially the illegal sanctions and the American blockade on Cuba and Syria.

The meeting was attended by the Syrian Ambassador to Cuba, Dr. Ghassan Obaid, the diplomatic attaché Ali Abbas, and from the Cuban side, Dr. David Rodriguez, the commercial director of the Foundation.
