Syrian Athlete Hasan Al-Masri ranks 3rd in the World Power-lifting Championships  

The Syrian power lifter and bodybuilder Hasan Al-Masri has won the bronze medal in the 2023 International Power-lifting Championships held in Sun City in South Africa.

Al-Masri won the bronze medal after lifting 210 kg coming after the Finnish athlete who ranked 2nd after lifting 217.5 kg. Winner of the Gold medal is a Hungarian athlete who lifted 222.5 kg.

This tournament is the first that witnessed the participation of two Arab Athletes; Hasan Al-Masr from Syria and Nizar Bleel from Morocco. Bleel took part in the 105 kg competitions and won a bronze medal.

In a statement to SANA, Al-Masri said the competition was strong, but it didin’t prevented me from achieving my aim which is to stand on the podium of this prestigious championship and lift the Syrian flag high, pointin gout that this international event brought together champions of physical strength from different parts of the world.
