Syrian ambassador to Armenia hosts leader of the Armenian team that contributed to search and rescue operations in Aleppo as a result of the earthquake
Yerevan (ST): The Syrian Ambassador to Armenia, Dr. Nora Arissian, praised the efforts exerted by Armenia to provide relief and humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria recently by sending a professional rescue team and through the visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister to Syria.
Ambassador Arissian hosted the commander of the Armenian rescue team, who left for Aleppo on the 8th of last February, Colonel Armen Kevorkian, and his deputy from the Ministry of Interior, as well as the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the diplomat Makrej Karabidian, who accompanied the rescue team to Syria, and Ambassador Dr. Arsene Arakilian, Director of the Middle East Department in the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to present a letter of thanks and appreciation to the Armenian rescue team, for their efforts and participation in the rescue operations of the earthquake victims.
In turn, the leader of the rescue team gave an overview of their work and tasks in Aleppo, while the director of the Middle East Department stressed Armenia’s readiness to continue supporting Syria at various levels.
