Syria wins two silver and three bronze medals at the International Physics Olympiad in Iran

Students of the Syrian Science Olympiad won two silver and three bronze medals at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), which Iran hosted on the 21st – 29th  of July.
“All members of the Syrian team, who participated in this Olympiad  were crowned”, the Distinction and Creativity Agency  said  in a statement on Sunday of which SANA received a copy.
The statement pointed out that two silver medals were won by students Muhammad Eid al-Akta’ and Bahaa Al-Din Melhem, while the bronze medals were obtained by students Abdul Hadi Shamashan, Ziad Jalal Badla and Anas Ali Mayya.
The agency indicated that the champions of the national physics team, supervised by Dr. Aqeel Salloum, are high school students.
It is worth to mention that this is Syria’s tenth participation in the International Physics Olympiad, and during its participation last year, the Syrian Science  Olympiad achieved two certificates of appreciation.
