Syria wins silver, bronze and certificate of appreciation at the International Olympiad of the Moscow University of physics and technology
Students of the Syrian scientific Olympiad and the National Center of Excellence won two silver and bronze medals and a certificate of appreciation at the International Olympiad of Moscow University of physics and technology for 2023, which was organized on the fifth of December with the participation of 86 students from 24 countries.
The Excellence and Creativity Authority said in a statement, a copy of which was received by SANA today, that the silver medal was obtained by students Anas mayeh, Baha’ Al-Din Al-Melhem and Mohammed Al-Akta’, while the bronze medal was achieved by Mufid jalkhi, Ziad Badla, Mohammed Nader Al-Dalati, Huda jarbi, Majd Amer and Mohammed Ali, and the student Mahmoud Ibrahim received a certificate of appreciation.
The tests of the Olympics were conducted “remotely” in mathematics and physics for 5 hours with the participation of 10 students from the National Centre of Excellence and members of the national teams of the Syrian Scientific Olympics specialists in mathematics and physics.
The Syrian participation in this Olympiad is an activation of the friendly Russian initiative in supporting Syrian scientific excellence and contributing to the development of its promising talents by taking advantage of the expertise of high scientific and educational competencies at the Moscow University of Physics and Technology.
It is worth mentioning that Moscow University has been holding this Olympiad annually for 30 years, and the first in its final competitions benefit from scholarships to the University, which annually allocates 60 seats to the elite of the outstanding in this Olympiad.
