Syria takes part in the World Governments Summit in UAE

Under the theme of ‘Shaping Future Governments’ the World Governments Summit 2024 was held in the United Arab Emirates with the participation of a Syrian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Administrative Development for Training and Institutional Organization Affairs Sanaa Lakhouj.

Heads of states, prime ministers, more than 80 regional and international organizations as well as government delegations from 120 countries, thought leaders and private sector leaders from around the globe gathered in this event to discuss ways to enhance international cooperation and enable governments to identify innovative solutions for future challenges.

The Syrian delegation also participated in the high-level meeting of Arab ministers responsible for government development and civil service, which was held within the activities of the World Summit of Governments in partnership with the Arab Organization for Administrative Development in the Arab League. The participants discussed strengthening Arab cooperation efforts in the field of government administrative development and the development of government systems and services. The report on the status of Arab government administration, which focuses on artificial intelligence and data technology, was reviewed. The participants also discussed the results of the Program of Future Government Leaders in the Arab world.

In the same context, and with Syria’s participation, the Future Government Leaders in the Arab World Program celebrated the graduation of the first batch of young Arab government leaders. The program was implemented in cooperation with the Government Knowledge Exchange Program and the Mohammed bin Rashid College of Government.

Among the graduates was Syria’s Assistant Minister of Administrative Development for Training and Institutional Organization Affairs, and the Director of the Institutional Organization Department.

Also, the graduation of 30 participants in the International Program for Government Managers was also celebrated. Among the graduates from Syria were Director of the Communications and Executive Support Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development.
