Syria takes part in the Arab Parliament’s plenary session held under the title “Solidarity with Gaza”

A delegation representing the Syrian People’s Assembly on Saturday took part in the Arab Parliament’s plenary session held under the title “Solidarity with Gaza” at the headquarters of the Arab League.

The Arab Parliament affirmed its full solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle to restore their occupied land, return the Palestinian refugees and establish of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asoumi said in a speech: “We are going through a dangerous stage of escalation for which the Israeli occupation is responsible through its brutal aggression against the Palestinian people and its acts of violence and killing against civilians, noting that the occupation is destroying the infrastructure in Palestine and committing war crimes that reflect its disregard to international law.

The Palestine Committee report was presented during the plenary session. It called on friendly parliaments to stand with the Palestinian people and condemn the dangerous escalation of the Israeli occupation against Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), where the occupation is committing a genocide war.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo, Member of the Syrian People’s Assembly Ghada Ibrahim, said “we presented a message on behalf of the entire Syrian people that we stand in solidarity with our brothers in Palestine and Gaza who carried out heroic deeds, as what the resistance did is recorded in history”.

She pointed out that the Palestinian people’s suffering from siege, starvation and oppression requires Arab action to support the Palestinian people and help the affected people.
