Activities of the 50th Arab Labor Conference kicked off in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, with the participation of a Syrian delegation led by Syria’s Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jad’an Al-Dandah.
In his speech at the opening session of the conference, which lasts until May 4th, The Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani noted the conference’s timing under challenging circumstances both regionally and globally, strongly condemning the ongoing brutal Zionist aggression against Gaza Strip and the policy of preventing food, medicine and safe house to be secured to the people there. He urged the international community to practice its role in stopping the aggression that violates all international laws and conventions.
“Arab Labor Conference in Baghdad bears additional responsibilities beyond those discussed in previous conferences. It is imperative to improve the performance of labor market institutions and elements, and to establish a quality relationship between educational outputs and labor market needs. We also need to include women in the workforce as a vital productive force and for reducing child labor. We stress the importance of adopting new productive methods, enhancing the skills of workers and institutions, and fostering innovation and collaboration with modern technology,” Al-Sudani clarified.
Head of the delegations affirmed in their statement their condemnation of the Zionist criminality in Gaza, stressing that what is going on in Gaza is unprecedented genocide.
Syria’s Ambassador Al-Dandah was elected at rapporteur for the Conference’s Organizing Committee.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad, Al-Dandah said that the importance of the conference lies in examining the future of human resources in the light of the tremendous technological development and in the development of productive work between the three working parties and in how to develop Arab integration in the field of human resources. He pointed out that the conference will review the activities achieved during the past year in accordance with the decisions of the 49th Arab Labor conference held in Cairo last year.
