Syria takes part in a symposium on Arab-Chinese relations and dialogue between the two civilizations

Abu Dhabi, (ST) – The tenth session of the Symposium on Arab-Chinese Relations and Dialogue between the Two Civilizations was launched in the UAE on Wednesday within the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum under the title “Dialogue of Civilizations for Sustainable Development.

Delegations from Syria and several other countries participated in the symposium.

The agenda of the tenth session of the two-day symposium includes a number of important topics that focus on four axes, which are civilizational rapprochement as a gateway to communication and peaceful coexistence, respect for cultures, consolidation of human brotherhood and respect for national identity, civilizational dialogue as a force for the progress and prosperity of human society, and the call for peace and dialogue as a basis for Consolidating peace and stability.

The Syrian delegation includes the Syrian Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, and Counselor Rabie Jawhara.

The UAE Minister of State, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, the Chinese government’s special envoy to the Middle East, head of the Chinese delegation, Zhai Jun, and the Head of the Arab League delegation, delivered speeches during the opening that focused on the depth of Arab-Chinese relations.

Both Minister Al-Sayegh and the Chinese envoy pointed to the suffering of the Palestinian people as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank. They stressed the need to achieve security and stability in the region.
