Syria submits its legal contribution to the International Court of Justice about the Israeli occupation’s practices in occupied Palestine

Syria has submitted its legal contribution to the International Court of Justice about the Israeli occupation’s practices in the occupied Palestinian territories and the legal consequences of these practices, reiterating its full support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and to establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

Syria took the move starting from the firm and principled support of the Syrian Arab Republic for the just Palestinian cause and for the continuous legal and diplomatic efforts led by Palestine with the aim of regaining the freedom and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Saturday.

In its contribution, Syria confirmed its full support for the Palestinian People and their right to self-determination and to establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital, the ministry said. It added that Syria explained the legal dimensions of the Israeli occupation crimes, including the occupation authorities’ decade-long systematic attacks on the Palestinian people in occupied Palestine and the people in the occupied Syrian Golan. The ministry went on to say that Syria also explained the occupation’s grave violations of the international law, the international humanitarian law human rights instruments, the UN Charter and resolutions, reiterating the need to hold “Israel”, the occupying power, accountable for these crimes and violations.

The ministry affirmed tat Syria will continue to be in the forefront as regards to supporting the Palestinian cause and it will spare no effort as end the Israeli occupation of Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan and it will continue to support the struggle of the Palestinian people to restore their rights.
