Syria strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a shrine in the Iranian city of Shiraz yesterday, and was carried out by a terrorist group that receives support from some international parties, calling on those parties to stop their practices.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement today: “The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted the pilgrims in the shrine of Ahmed bin Musa al-Kadhim “Shahgragh” in the city of Shiraz, and it was carried out by a terrorist group that receives support from some international parties to disturb the stability and security that the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys.”
The source added: “Syria, while expressing its condemnation of these terrorist acts that kill innocent citizens, including children, women, and the elderly, affirms its conviction that this terrorist act is a criminal act that is humanly and morally unacceptable, and the parties that provide support and funding must stop these practices.”
The source concluded by saying: “Syria once again expresses its support for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the measures it takes against terrorist acts, and extends sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and wishes the wounded a speedy recovery.”
A person was killed and 8 others were wounded, as a result of the terrorist attack that targeted the shrine yesterday, while the security forces in Fars province announced the arrest of 4 people, including the main terrorist who opened fire inside the shrine.
