Damascus – Syria has strongly condemned the terrorist act that targeted a police station, in the city of Rask in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeast of Iran on Friday, and that led to the martyrdom of 12 policemen and the injury of several others.

In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that escalating of terrorist acts supported by well known hostile parties and their tools in the region is clear evidence of the failure of the schemes of the forces supporting terrorism internationally and regionally. It also clearly shows that the forces behind this terrorist act resort to more bloodshed and tension to serve their sinister goals in this sensitive part of the world.

The Ministry extended Syria’s deepest condolences to the Iranian people, the bereaved families and the Iranian leadership over this loss, and voiced its support for them in the face of such terrorist attacks.

The ministry affirmed the inevitability of the failure of these terrorists and those who support them thanks to the unity of the Iranian people, stressing that the international community must condemn these immoral and inhuman acts and those behind them, and must hold the perpetrators accountable.
