Syria strongly condemns European Union’s decision to impose further illegal coercive measures against it

Syria strongly condemned the European Union’s new decision to reinforce its unilateral illegal coercive measures against the Syrians, stressing that these sanctions come within the framework of the EU’s systematic hostile policy and its complete partnership in the war against Syria.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA on Tuesday: “The European Union repeats its lies when it claims that the sanctions imposed on Syria do not impede the provision of humanitarian assistance or access to food and medical equipment, which makes its policies pose a serious threat to the lives of the Syrians and have a negative impact on the country’s economy”.

“The European Union’s vaunted exceptions have no effect whatsoever, rather, they are a kind of media propaganda aiming at concealing the reality of EU’s policies towards Syria ” the source added.

The source stressed that the EU’s persistence in distorting facts and promoting allegations that lack the lowest degree of credibility and its aggressive attitudes that aim at impeding the consolidation of stability in Syria after the failure of the conspiracy project, will not be able to influence Syria’s efforts to close the page of aggression and work to overcome its consequences in accordance with national perspectives and choices.
