Syria renews its support for Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state

Cairo- Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala, Syria’s permanent representative to the Arab League and Head of its Diplomatic Mission in Cairo, renewed the Syrian Arab Republic’s support for the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state on the occupied Palestinian territories, with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital, SANA News Agency reported.

In a speech delivered at the 114th regular session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Ala said that the region is facing serious crises foremost among which is the dangerous escalation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the American-Western complicity in this genocide.

Ala criticized the international failure to stop the Israeli aggression and hold Zionist perpetrators accountable for their atrocities committed that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Ambassador Ala stressed Syria’s welcome to adopting a draft resolution during the current session of the Economic and Social Council on supporting the Palestinian economy, which would contribute to mobilizing support for the Palestinian people to enable them to confront the humanitarian tragedy they are facing, and to possess the elements of steadfastness in the face of the Israeli plans.

“Syria stresses the importance of the Arab Program for Sustaining Food Security, as well as all initiatives that are consistent with the axes and objectives of this program, and reiterates its proposal on the need to establish joint Arab companies in the field of food industries,” he said.

Ala called on Arab countries to participate in the first edition of the Arab Trade Fair, which will be held in Damascus in April next year and whose preparations have begun in coordination with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
