Amman, (ST) – The work of the 49th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for the Middle East kicked off today in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohammad Rami Martini said in a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Amman that Syria will return to participate in the work of the World Tourism Organization after its return to its seat in the League of Arab States, and after the achievements it made in the country during the past years.
Martini pointed to the importance of working during the coming period with the participation of friendly and brotherly countries to enhance tourism services among Arab countries and consolidate the spirit of Arab consensus.
The meeting continues until the 9th of this month in the presence of representatives of 12 Arab countries. This commission is one of the WTO main bodies and its annual meeting is part of the activities of the international organization.
