Syria participates in the meetings of the specialized group on artificial intelligence for health in Geneva
Geneva (ST) – With the participation of Syria, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Technology, the meetings of the specialized group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for health, organized by the International Telecommunication Union and the World Health Organization (WHO), began yesterday in the Swiss city of Geneva.
In a presentation during the meeting entitled “Health Data Management and Governance for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence”, director of Technology Development at the Ministry, Dr. Anas Dahabiya, said: ” The rapid growth in digital transformation has led to a generation of a huge amount of data, which has become the necessary fuel to push the wheel of artificial intelligence forward, especially due to the current trend to adopt deep learning systems in many applications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the health and clinical field where data, in its confidentiality and privacy, forms the backbone of decision-making.”
the presentation included a proposal to have a unified framework for managing health data based on the basic pillars of management, which are quality management, privacy and security management, analytics management, technical management, and data management, which is the core of data management related to all areas of knowledge.
The meetings of the AI for Health Specialist Group will continue until Wednesday, under the theme “AI for the Common Good”.
The Ministry of Communications and Technology is an active member of the specialized group on artificial intelligence for health through its many contributions, since the group was established in 2019 and its conducting specialized technical courses in data management and governance and drawing up its policies and strategies for public sector employees in Syria.
