Syria participates in the film “Baba on Wheel” in the 10th Emirates Film Festival
The Syrian General Film Organization participated in the 10th edition of the Emirates Film Festival, held in Dubai, through the short film “Baba on Wheel”, scripted and directed by Hazem Quareni.
The events of the film go back to 2010, and depict incidents that coincide with the World Cup matches, but Damascus lives them in a different way within worlds and characters reflect the community in the city.
The characters share their dream of walking away from the situation they live in, especially in the light of the state of helplessness that these characters are living in.
The film tells the story of the helpless father, Taher, who searches for a chair for the elderly and his wife Salma shares this dream with him, while the son, Gibran, searches for a new bike to participate in the school competition.
The film is performed by Samer Omran, Amal Saad El-Din, Hassan Kahlous, Zakaria Fayyad, Ahmed Al-Rifai, Ibrahim Issa, Jamal Al-Ali, Taj El-Din Daifallah.
