Syria: Israeli invasion of Rafah will have catastrophic repercussions

Damascus – Syria has warned that the Israeli invasion of the city of Rafah will have catastrophic repercussions on the Palestinians whom the occupation brutally displaced from all parts of Gaza after destroying all means of their life. Syria has also affirmed that the US permission for Israel to implement this dangerous and inhuman scheme poses a serious threat to security and stability in the region.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that countries of the world are following up the Israeli inhuman intention to launch a ground military offensive on the city of Rafah, south of Gaza Strip, which is the last and only refuge for almost 1.4 million Palestinians displaced by the criminal racist Zionist entity from their cities in the north a center of the Strip. The ministry pointed out that Israel’s decision to carry out this attack constitutes a grave violation of the rules of the international law, the international humanitarian law and the simplest human rights.

The ministry went on to say that “Israel” is not satisfied with killing more than 28,000 Palestinians in Gaza Strip since the start of its aggression last October, as it seems that its thirst to kill more Palestinians has no limits and its barbarism has exceeded the crimes committed in other regions of the world several centuries ago.

“Syria renews its call on all countries of the world, especially the International Court of Justice, to force Israel to stop the genocide it is committing against the Palestinians, hold the Israeli fascist leaders accountable and fully responsible for the catastrophic effects resulting from targeting civilians and civilian facilities and property in Gaza Strip,” the ministry concluded.
