Syria, Iran to carry out joint trade and investment projects

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Mohsen Ali discussed with the delegation of the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Association headed by Ahmed Dastmaljian, Vice-President of the Association, prospects for enhancing trade cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed means of establishing joint commercial and investment projects.

Minister Ali affirmed the Ministry’s full readiness to cooperate with the Iranian side in various investment and commercial fields, and to work to overcome and address obstacles and difficulties as quickly as possible, in order to reach practical results on the ground that meet the requirements of the current stage with all its challenges.

For his part, Dastmaljian highlighted the importance of enhancing commercial and investment work, which will reflect positively on revitalizing the markets in the two countries, leading to real economic development. He called for continuing to raise the level of trade exchange between the two countries of various commodities and products.
