Tehran, (ST) – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh and Speaker of the Islamic Shura Council Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed continued support for the Palestinian cause, especially Gaza Strip, which is subjected to a genocidal war, in flagrant defiance of international and humanitarian laws.
During his meeting with Ghalibaf on the sidelines of the 5th extraordinary meeting of the Palestine Committee at the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) and the 1st meeting of the Palestine Committee in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Tehran, Sabbagh stressed that the two meetings would come out with a unified position and take effective and coordinated practical steps to activate all tools of pressure against the Zionists and work immediately to stop the aggression and genocide.
He also stressed the need to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
Sabbagh pointed to the American and Western support for the Zionist entity, and the international silence regarding its crimes, which encouraged it to continue its aggression and terrorism against the peoples of the region. He stressed that the Palestinian issue is a principled issue for us.
“Al-Aqsa Flood Operation stirred the Palestinian issue to its roots, and that the price of resistance is much greater than the price of surrender, and the impact of the Al-Aqsa operation and what followed was a major matter in the course of the Palestinian cause”, Sabbagh added.
Sabbagh referred to the Zionist entity’s attacks against Syria and Lebanon and its attempt to expand the scope of the war, in order to achieve its aggressive goals and export its internal crises abroad.
Sabbagh renewed his condemnation of the terrorist act that affected innocent people in the Iranian city of Kerman.
In turn, Ghalibaf stressed the role of Syria and Iran in the axis of resistance supporting the Palestinian cause. He expressed his hope that these two meetings would come out with practical decisions in support of the Palestinian people.
