Syria has offered great sacrifices in defense of its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, says Kanaani

Tehran, (ST) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Monday affirmed that Syria with its pivotal strategic role, capabilities and political wisdom, is considered as one of the most important Arab countries.

Kanaani said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Tehran: In recent years, Syria has faced many Western conspiracies and the spread of terrorist organizations, and it has lost many of its sons who sacrificed their blood for the honor and dignity of Syria and in defense of Syria’s independence, sovereignty and unity.

Kanaani added that the sacrifices made by the Syrian people in the face of international terrorism and in confronting the multilateral conspiracies against the security, stability and sovereignty of Syria are unparalleled sacrifices, and they deserve to be immortalized in history.

Kanaani said that we are witnessing today a strong national unity between the government and the people in Syria, one of the results of which was the achievement of the restoration of diplomatic relations between it and some Arab countries.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed Iran’s optimism and confidence in Syria’s ability to rebuild what has been destroyed by terrorism and to restore its effective and strategic role in the entire region.
