Syria extends permission for the United Nations and its agencies to use the Bab Al-Salama and Al-Rai crossings for a period of three months

New York, (ST) – Syria has decided to extend the permission granted to the United Nations and its specialized agencies to use Bab Al-Salama and Al-Rai border crossings for a period of three months, ending on August 13, 2023.

Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Bassam Sabbagh, said on his Twitter account yesterday: This decision comes out of Syria’s keenness to enhance stability and improve the living and humanitarian situation for all Syrians, and it also comes as part of its efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to all those in need.

Sabbagh added that the decision comes from realizing the continuing needs resulting from the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of last February.
