Syria expresses solidarity with India over the repercussion of the natural disasters that hit the country

Damascus, (ST) – Syria has expressed its sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of the friendly Republic of India because of the tragic natural disasters it was recently exposed to.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Tuesday that Syria expresses its sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of the friendly Republic of India because of the tragic natural disasters it was exposed to, including the landslides and floods, the latest of which took place in the state of Maharashtra.

The Foreign Ministry added that Syria extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the deepest feelings of sympathy to the government of India and to the affected and the families of the missing.

Since the onset of the monsoon in India in early June, floods and landslides have killed dozens in the country, the latest of which was a few days ago in the state of Maharashtra in central-western India, where landslides killed more than 27 people.
