Syria expresses its pride in the struggle steps of the Palestinian detainees, condemns the occupation’s practices against them

Syria has expressed its pride in the struggle steps and the honorable stands of the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli jails, and their willingness to wage a hunger strike battle, reiterating its condemnation of the practices and procedures of the Israeli occupation against them, and its support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and independence.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Thursday that “the government of the Syrian Arab Republic expresses its pride in the struggle steps and the honorable stances of our Palestinian brothers and detainees, represented in holding mobilization and organization sessions, in preparation for the hunger strike battle scheduled to start on the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan under the title of “Volcano of Freedom or Martyrdom”. This battle comes as a response to the announcement of the so-called “Israeli Prison Administration” to begin its abusive measures against Palestinian prisoners, such as reducing drinking water and depriving them of necessary medical care.

The Ministry added: The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and independence, and condemns in the strongest terms the fascist practices and measures of the Israeli occupation government against the Palestinian prisoners and detainees, stressing that these measures are a clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the Human Rights Charter.
