Syria decides to reopen its embassy in Tunisia 

Damascus (ST) – Syria and Tunisia announced in a joint statement on Wednesday that in response to the initiative of Tunisian President Kais Saied’s on appointing an ambassador to his country in Damascus, Syria decided to reopen its embassy in Tunis and appoint an ambassador. 

The statement said: In response to the initiative of the President of the Tunisian Republic Kais Saied to appoint an ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, the Syrian government announced its immediate approval of this appointment and decided to reopen its embassy in Tunisia and appoint an ambassador at its head in the next period. 

The statement added: Out of keenness of both sides to restore the Syrian-Tunisian relations to their normal course, consultation and coordination continue between the foreign ministers of both countries in order to boost the long-standing fraternal ties between Syria with Tunisia.  

This coordination is for the good and interest of the two brotherly peoples of Tunisia and Syria and to uphold the values of solidarity between them.
